2 of my remaining 3 grandparents have died within the past 2 months, Jason's grandma died 6 months ago and a good family friend died about a month ago.....that's a lot for a 4 year old (who is fascinated by death anyway) to deal with. Last week, the day of my grandfather's wake, I overheard Julian explaining death to Carson.
Julian: "Carse...mommy and daddy aren't going to be home tonight, Papa Mike is going to watch us. Mommy and daddy are going to a wakeful for Grandpa Bill. He was a very nice man and he loved you very much but you won't get to know him anymore, because he's dead now. That means he isn't here anymore and we can't see him again and his body is in the ground. Does that make sense?"
Carson: "No, no, Elmo...mine...mine"

18 months
Carson, I can't believe you are 18 months old (almost 19 months now, this was in drafts for a while)...where has the time gone? You are such a joy and we are so blessed to have you in our lives.
Your favorite things:
Elmo (aka Melmo)--if you watch Sesame Street you hand me or daddy the remote to fast forward past all of the non-Elmo parts of the show.
Baths--the minute we get home from school you head for the stairs saying Bath, Bath. You love to splash and pour water over your head.
Coloring--preferably with markers-non washable and on the wall.
Basketball...Baseball...Football and you've got a pretty good arm.
Eating...almost anything. You also love to feed others.
Playing (aka fighting, tackling, biting, etc.) with Julian.
Outside, you are always handing everyone their shoes as well as yours.
Climbing....yesterday I walked into Julian's room to find you on the top rung of his bunk bed ladder (Bad mommy!)
I love:
How you grab a hand and say "walk" and pull them along wherever you want to go.
How you give sweet smooches right on the lips and hug like there is no tomorrow.
How you pat my back and put your head on my shoulder when you are tired.

25 Random things about me.....
1. I hate the Kleenex Touch commercial, I often find myself saying, touch hair, touch counter, touch spoon, touch cup, touch .... so annoying.
2. I went to an all girls high school and totally did not fit in there.
3. I always wanted boys, but occasionally wonder if I will regret not having a girl.
4. I worry about the boys getting diseases all of the time.
5. I can be really bad about keeping in touch with my friends. I haven't seen one of my best friends since August!
6. I adore Chris Martin and Justin Timberlake and I hate Britney Spears, I think Jessica Simpson is a better singer.
7. I hope Cara doesn't dis-own me for my previous comment.
8. I love going to comedy clubs, concerts, musicals, the opera, Cirque shows, etc. But I hate going to Art galleries and museums.
9. I Love baseball and would go to every Royals and Cubs game if possible. I would love to go to a game in every ballpark across the country. If I ran into a lot of money I would totally do that.10. I would like to move, I don't love KC. But I do love my family and JS and would miss them WAY too much!
11. I love Mexican food and would eat it every day if I let myself. I eat Chipotle every Friday night Steak, black beans, corn salsa, sour cream in a bowl. Carson eats half of it.
12. I am allergic to wheat, nuts, peanuts, wine and nutra sweet. The only fruit I will eat is fresh pineapple, granny smith apples and strawberries. I also don't eat many vegetables.
13. I love Margaritas, on the rocks, no salt.
14. I hate gambling, but I love Las Vegas.
15. I wish smoking in public was illegal EVERYWHERE!!!! Smelling it literally makes my chest tighten.
16. For the past several months I can't sleep without Tylenol PM.
17. I am terrified of mice and home invasions (I wake up at least twice a night to make sure the alarm is set).
18. I love stupid ridiculous reality tv like the Real Housewives, Workout, The Bachelor (some seasons), Keeping up with the Kardashians (even though I didn't know who they were before I watched it), Tori and Dean, I am embarrassed to admit this.19. I love the idea of being a SAHM, but would totally suck at it.
20. I have been with Jason since 1992!!!! Married since 1998.
21. I used to compete with Showstoppers, basically floor gymnastics with some dance. I traveled to Los Angeles, Dallas, Wichita, etc; I could stand on my chin and bend my legs over so that my feet were in front of my face. Unfortunately I can't do it anymore :(
22. I wish I read more non-fiction books, I wish I was a good photographer; I wish I was better organized. I love the gym and wish I went more. Getting up at 5am is really hard :)
23. I would love to live on the beach, but in reality I know that the sand would drive me insane and I would end up spending 23 hours a day cleaning or worrying about sand in the house.
24. I eat an omelet almost every day and am addicted to coffee--my favorite is Starbucks Casi Cielo ~~Venti, 1 Splenda and milk.
25. I love going on vacations with our friends, but secretly prefer to go without kids. I think I get too uptight and stressed to relax and enjoy myself with the kids.
